Dr. Amy Woodruff is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist specializing in electrical disorders of the heart. She is on the professional staff of the Texas Heart Institute and affiliated with its Center for Women’s Heart & Vascular Health. Dr. Woodruff received her bachelor of science from Baylor University where she graduated magna cum laude in 1991. She attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, graduating cum laude in 1995. Following medical school, Dr. Woodruff completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine, where she was chief resident of internal medicine. Her fellowship was in cardiology at the Texas Heart Institute. She also completed a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Scott & White Memorial Hospital and Texas A&M Health Science Center. Dr. Woodruff has been published in medical journals for her research in the areas of breast cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
Born and raised in Houston, Dr. Seger is a Strake Jesuit alumnus. He obtained his BS degree in Chemistry from Southern Methodist University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. John graduated from UT Houston Medical School before completing internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He completed a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute, and obtained further training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of California, San Francisco, the birthplace of modern arrhythmia ablation.
Dr. Seger is one of the highest volume device (pacemaker and defibrillator) implanters in the United States, and he is a nationally recognized leader in this area. He has chaired national conferences and international committees in the area of device implantation, and he is sought after as an educator in this arena
